This natural agogo is made with sustainable wood and large fruit husks and is a natural version of the common metal agogo. It creates a clear, crisp two-tone sound when hit with the hard wood beater, supplied with the instrument.
Agogos are percussion instruments that originated in Africa, and in modern day it is commonly used to maintain rhythm in Afro-Brazilian music. They can be used to teach rhythms from around the world, as well as introducing young musicians to their culture and music.
To play, hold the Agogo firmly at the bottom and using the wooden beater hit one of the two-tone fruit husks to create a clear sound. The simple design and satisfying two-tone sound also make this instrument ideal for the school percussion section.
