The thunder drum is a captivating instrument that creates deep, stormy thunder-like sounds, making it a fantastic addition to the classroom. Suitable for children aged 3 and up (with supervision), it's a fun and engaging way for young learners to explore sound.
How to play
To play a thunder drum, hold the instrument with the spring dangling down and shake it from side to side very fast, turning your wrists quickly. Gently pulling or sliding your fingers along the spring can create some very eerie sounds and you can also try talking, singing or shouting down into the drum while shaking it to produce a voice similar to a spring reverb.
