Introducing the MMX 95 Carbon composite French double bass bow

The MMX95 series combines the historical traditions of bow making with modern materials and expert craftsmanship. Available in both 1/4 and 3/4 sizes, these bows offer a durable and responsive playing experience for developing and advanced double bass players alike.

Constructed from carbon composite, they feature nickel silver-mounted ebony frogs with mother of pearl slides and eyes, along with white unbleached horsehair. The result is a bow that delivers reliable performance while maintaining a traditional appearance and feel.

The lightweight carbon composite construction provides excellent balance and handling, helping to reduce fatigue during longer rehearsals and performances without compromising strength, projection or control.

Also available for violin, viola and cello.

The MMX range

MMX has worked closely with master luthier Guofang Wang and his family workshop for nearly a decade, producing a broad selection of orchestral stringed instruments and bows. The MMX95 series is designed to offer dependable performance, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials for regular practice, ensemble playing and performance.

Durable and sustainable materials

As the availability of high-quality Brazilwood continues to decline, carbon composite materials provide a durable and consistent alternative. By reducing reliance on increasingly scarce natural resources, the MMX95 series offers a practical solution for modern players while maintaining the performance characteristics expected from a quality bow.
