Introducing the Drums for Schools bamboo djembe
The Drums for Schools bamboo djembe range offers a lightweight, sustainable alternative to traditional wooden drums, designed for use across Early Years, classroom and SEN settings. Each model is hand-woven from natural bamboo fibres and reinforced internally with resin for strength, durability and resonant tone, while remaining around a third of the weight of a standard wooden djembe.
Available in four sizes – 9in × 30cm, 11in × 40cm, 13in × 50cm and 15in × 60cm – these djembes are suitable for a wide range of ages and ensemble configurations. The natural goatskin playing head provides an authentic, responsive tone, and the resin–sawdust interior ensures consistent shape and airtight performance. A rubber base protects both the drum and floor surfaces during use.
Every djembe is individually handcrafted using traditional techniques and undergoes thorough quality checks to ensure smooth edges, accurate dimensions and balanced tone across the range.
