The W-37 from Suzuki is a beautifully handcrafted keyboard harmonica ("Kenhamo") developed in response to the needs of artists seeking a more expressive, ensemble-friendly tone. Available in both mahogany and walnut finishes, the W-37 is designed to complement rather than compete - its voice is soft, warm, and perfectly suited for delicate musical styles.
Unlike traditional keyboard harmonicas that aim to stand out with a bright, prominent timbre, the W-37 delivers a mellow, rounded sound. The wooden cover was carefully chosen for its ability to absorb and suppress harsh overtones, particularly in the upper register, creating a tone that blends seamlessly with string instruments and acoustic ensembles.
The W-37 is more than an instrument - it’s a work of art. Every wooden part is lovingly handmade, with an incredibly smooth finish that makes it a joy to play. The white keys are walnut, the black keys are beech, and the body is shaped from solid mahogany/walnut for a sound that is as beautiful as its natural woodgrain appearance.
With a strap pin included, the W-37 is performance-ready, whether sitting or standing. The lightweight build (just 1,100g) and responsive action offer a strong sense of unity between player and instrument, making it easy to focus on musical expression without distraction.
The W-37 was proudly awarded the Good Design Award in 2017, recognised for its outstanding craftsmanship, natural aesthetic, and the refined tonal quality achieved through its wooden construction.
