I couldn’t decide between the Pro and non-pro version of this stand. For the small difference in price and potential for more flexible uses, I opted for the pro.
I am a cellist and find this stand particularly useful because most of the base (the legs) are facing away from you. This means there’s lots of room for your feet, a pedal and of course the end pin for the cello itself. The stand can be raised to a level for either extremely tall people or for a shorty like me, be used to place the stand on a lower level to where I’m sat.
The friction-based mechanisms seem really sturdy and feels well planted even when loaded up. I often have my iPad and study books resting on it with no issues.
Improvements? It’s too early to say but perhaps integral clips to hold sheet music would be useful. At least you can get those separately.
Brilliant stand and I think it’s worth the money.
