Introducing the MMX Soloist Violin

This MMX Soloist A grade violin is hand carved by the luthiers in the Guofang Wang workshop in Beijing with superb attention to detail. It is made from their highest grade spruce, maple and ebony to give the best possible sound and appearance to the violin. Once the instrument is assembled, an oil-based varnish is layered by hand to give the instrument an antique chestnut brown finish that really complements the woods to great effect.

The MMX range

MMX has been working with master luthier Guofang Wang and his family workshop for nearly a decade, producing a broad selection of orchestral stringed instruments. For the beginner, the Student series of violins, violas, and celli offer the best start in the playing journey right through to our Signature instruments, which are perfectly at home in professional orchestral and solo work.

Attention to detail

Each instrument is diligently cared for at every stage of the production process, ensuring incredible value for money at each price point. Attention to detail is at the heart of every MMX violin, viola, cello and double bass. The tone wood panels are sourced from the forests of Sichuan or Yunnan province and seasoned to increase their strength. The lustrous oil-based varnish is mixed to exact specifications to create a desirable antique finish which enhances both the grain and resonance of the instrument bodies. Even the fittings used are carefully selected to suit the instrument perfectly.

Exceptional craftsmanship

From the materials used to the way they are carved, fitted, and assembled, MMX aims to deliver instruments that will surpass all expectations!
