Introducing the MMX Soloist Cello
The MMX Soloist A grade cello is hand crafted by master luthier Guofang Wang in the MMX workshop in Bejing from the best tonewoods.The instrument has an A grade Asian spruce top with very tight grain, a beautifully figured quartersawn solid maple back and ebony fittings.
On top of these superb tonewoods the instrument is then hand varnished with an antique oil varnish which is applied in layers to voice this beautiful instrument with a full, rich sound with superb tonal variation.
Attention to detail
Each instrument is diligently cared for at every stage of the production process, ensuring incredible value for money at each price point. Attention to detail is at the heart of every MMX violin, viola, cello and double bass. The tone wood panels are sourced from the forests of Sichuan or Yunnan province and seasoned to increase their strength. The lustrous oil-based varnish is mixed to exact specifications to create a desirable antique finish which enhances both the grain and resonance of the instrument bodies. Even the fittings used are carefully selected to suit the instrument perfectly.
